ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
- Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
- Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
- Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
- Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
- Must understand customer service.
- Cleared understanding of job safety requirements.
- Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring test.
- Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians.
- Perform 4 pair continuity testing
- Pull all types of low voltage cable including copper telecom cable
- Performing all types of copper field terminations
- Install ladder racking and seismic bracing
- Patch network equipment
- Read and Understand Port Maps/Matrices
- Read and understand job floor plan and TC drawings
- Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.
- Install Copper and Fiber Cabling and labeling
- Affixing Labels to cabling and Power Cords
- Affix bar coding to equipment
- Affix free printed label
- Cut and install threaded rod
- Cut and install Uni-strut
- Cut and install fiber trough
- Create/test Bonding whips, straps, and connections
- Understand the basics of "FIM" and operate scanner
- Install and test coax cabling (series 6 & 11)
- Install OSP cables through conduits and maintenance
- Install pull strings through conduits, in ceilings
- Install ISP cables through conduits, in ceilings,
- Install box eliminators (mud rings) in drywall
- How to install/maintain firestopping
- Understanding/Usage of fiber types (SM/MM/Ribbon)
- Install and Service Network Equipment
- Install ISP/OSP into cable enclosures (OSE)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Primarily walking, standing, and bending for extended periods with some sitting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with verbal, written, visual and listening skills.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required equipment as well as to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
- Able to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pull cables.
- Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platforms.

Pay: $23.00 - $38.00 per hour
