Full Job Description
The Business Office is recruiting for a Controller. The Controller is responsible for fiscal operations of the University, establishes and maintains the system of accounting and internal controls, and ensures the accuracy and timely recording and reporting of fiscal activity.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Maintain a high-quality system of internal controls over financial reporting.
Maintain accounting records that facilitate annual financial reports for external audit.
Prepare interim financial reports to facilitate analysis and any compliance requirements.
Work with Vice President of Finance & Administration to manage budgets and forecasts.
Prepare and coordinate with external accounting firm any tax compliance reports.
Prepare and coordinate any compliance reporting related to grants.
Prepare and coordinate any compliance reporting related to long-term debt.
Supervise purchasing function and work to enhance policies around procurement.
Supervise payroll function.
Maintain banking and consulting relationships to support effective and efficient use of University resources.
Provide support for University management and the Board.
Supervise and train staff.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.
A bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience are required. A CPA license is preferred. Experience with an enterprise accounting system such as Ellucian/Colleague is required. Experience with Fundriver is preferred.
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
