Primary Purpose:
TIG Welder (Welder B) will perform repair welding, brazing, and cutting on titanium castings using TIG, argon, and helium in electrical welding equipment in a climate controlled environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform repair welding, brazing, and cutting on titanium castings.
Plan the details of work procedures, tools, and material requirements using instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
Utilize established protocols for welding titanium castings under the direction of a Welder A.
Build/raise worn or defective surfaces in order to finish product to specifications.
Operate a belt grinder to grind welding tips.
Load and unload castings from tank.
Pick up castings and carry them to and from the work area.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Completion required of formal vocation program (1-2 years) or completion of Selmet welder training program (12-18 months).
Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, policies and operating procedures, technical manuals, production and work schedules.
Must pass welding test within two (2) weeks of beginning position.
Must pass an annual eye exam.
This position requires ability to bend, lift, push, and pull (to place castings in and out of the tank).
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to utilize proper attention and care to prevent injury to others when performing maintenance work on equipment.
Compliance with general company attendance standard is required.
HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but candidates not meeting this requirement who possesses relevant experience will be considered.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
Must be willing to participate in pre-employment and periodic drug screening.

Working Conditions:
This position is generally sedentary requiring worker to sit at a TIG welding tank, place arms through sleeves into the tank and weld on castings in an oxygen-free atmosphere.
The job is generally performed under agreeable working conditions in a climate controlled environment.

Individual will train for approximately one month on the following shift: 3:30pm-12:00am
Once training is complete, individual will move to the following schedule: 3:30pm-2:00am
Overtime is required as needed.
