Cybersecurity Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Leverage extensive IT expertise in all aspects of Cybersecurity, including a vast array of IT systems involving the end user, such as enterprise level networks. Design and implement systems that meet agency Cybersecurity policies and regulations. Work with Cybersecurity tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, public key infrastructure (PKI), and secured networks.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with systems security engineering or Cybersecurity
  • Experience with engineering, implementing, and monitoring security measures for the protection of systems, networks, and information
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining Cybersecurity solutions
  • Experience with protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and networks hardened against attacks, and securing sensitive data
  • Experience with security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentications systems, log management, and content filtering
  • Experience with Cybersecurity tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies and system, security, and network monitoring tools
  • Experience with Web-related technologies, including Web applications, Web services, service-oriented architectures, and network or Web related protocols
  • Experience with NIST security controls, the governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) security documentation tool, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and security compliance
  • Knowledge of DoD security processes, eMASS, Nessus, security technical implementation guides (STIGs), Splunk, and the VA environment
  • Knowledge of Cloud and mobile security
  • Knowledge of security as it pertains to the following platforms: Windows, Solaris, Unix, Red Hat Linux, AIX, OpenVMS, IBM i5OS, RACF, ACF2, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Cisco IOS, Firewall, multi-functional printer, scanner, and fax devices, and encryption technologies, including VPN, TLS, and SSL
  • Knowledge of current technologies used for technical security control reviews, including Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, IBM Endpoint Manager (IEM) previously known as Tivoli Endpoint Manager (TEM), or BigFix or Tenable Nessus software preferred
  • Public Trust clearance
  • MA or MS degree in CS, EE, or IT
