POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in carrying out physical therapy treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients under the direction and supervision of licensed physical therapists. Assists with educational, administrative, managerial, and quality control duties. Performs technical work in all phases of patient treatment. Assists in maintaining safety and cleanliness of the patient care area, supplies and equipment in optimum condition to facilitate smooth operations. Participates effectively with other members of the health care team for maximum patient benefit and efficiency.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant program. Minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist assistant. Meets clinical and leadership activities and behaviors as defined in the clinical ladder or equivalent.
LICENSURE
Must have and maintain a current license to practice as a physical therapist assistant issued by the Texas State Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider card.
