We are seeking an exceptional Data Science Lead who will play a critical role in bio-sensor design, development, data analysis and creation of health-related procedures and algorithms around the human body. Our new Data Science Lead will evaluate and test various sensors and related technologies, design and develop in-house algorithms to read, clean, and analyze various real-time data streams, and create models to automate various activities related to collected data. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Company Data Science team and provide direction across all facets of the Data Science business including company vision, and personnel plan
Collaborate with other Company personnel (e.g., Engineering, Product, Business) to define and execute on Company goals
Lead discussions and work with various sensor manufacturers, sensors and accompanying technologies including verification of output data and fine tuning configuration parameters to get consistent quality data
Create high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts to convert raw data coming from sensors into meaningful metrics and insights as applicable to health and the human body
Participate in discussions with sensor/firmware/hardware companies and help identify feasible solutions for live sports environments
Lead Company efforts in the publishing of white papers and other research writings based on work being done around human data and applicable algorithms
Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data
Employ a variety of languages and tools (Python, Matlab) and identify any needed software tools and technologies to deal with large amounts of data in conjunction with desired metrics within acceptable response times
Help with testing and performance of sensors as well as in-house and third-party algorithms including automated processes for the same
Requirements

You Have:
PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field
5+ years of hands-on research experience around sensor design and development
Hands-on experience with MatLab, Python and SQL programming
A methodical approach to problem solving, experimentation, documentation and testing protocols
Experience working with regulated medical software products
Strong oral and written communication skills
Solid interpersonal and organizational skills
A detail-oriented, thorough approach to problem solving and troubleshooting
An ability to independently consult across teams and larger organizations to guide direction and educate a variety of technical levels
A ‘get-it-done’ attitude with the willingness to help across multiple functions as needed

Bonus If You Have:
Prior scientific accomplishment with peer-reviewed publications
Experience with medical standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, HIPAA)
Knowledge of embedded processing with focus on optimization and real time flow of data and instructions
Experience with machine learning techniques like deep learning, and tools like TensorFlow or PyTorch or similar
