Position Summary: It is the primary responsibility of this role to assist our customers and lead environmental specialists on creating adequate nutrient and pest management plans while meeting all government compliance requirements.
Primary Functions:
Provide and maintain Nutrient/Pest Management services
- Successfully complete the requirements of the environmental service associates’ program
- Assist in maintaining positive working relationships with current and potential customers
- Assist the Lead Environmental Specialist in tasks designated to complete nutrient/pest management plans for USDA-NRCS, MN-MPCA, and farm planning clients
· Aid in making sound service recommendations to customers to improve their operation while understanding the value proposition for each segment in different regions
· Analyze nutrient value of applied manure and assist in explaining site-specific issues from nutrient management plans
· Aid in processing multiple clients’ soil test and fertility needs
· Stay current on knowledge of all governmental regulations and requirements for nutrient/pest management plans
· Assist in completing and maintaining accurate and proper documentation of all services provided
· Gather and maintain spatial data from multiple sources required for nutrient/pest management plans; generate spatial data sets when not available from external sources.
· Assist in generating maps containing relevant spatial and non-spatial information based on federal and state agency reporting requirements.
· Use federal and state agency required tools to gather and compile data for all aspects of nutrient and pest management planning and reporting.
- Represent yourself as a subject matter expert and problem solver to provide value added solutions
- Strong desire to obtain knowledge of nutrient/pest management related products/programs in the ag industry

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
· Prior experience in an agricultural setting
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment
· Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively with in all levels of the organization
- Assertive, approachable, tactful and possesses an ability to build strong business relationships with customers
· Customer service oriented with ability to problem solve

· Excellent organizational skills including detail oriented, multi-tasking, planning, and prioritizing

· Strong desire to work towards a Natural Resource Conservation Service-Technical Service Provider Nutrient and Pest Management certifications.
· Strong desire to obtain MN-CCA certification.
· Must comply with current driver qualification requirements and our Drug and Alcohol Policy
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in agriculture or closely related field.
· Preferred knowledge or previous experience with federal and state agency tools and websites for Nutrient/Pest Management plans including Nutrient Management Planner, RUSLE2, WEPS, NRCS Web Soil Survey, ArcGIS software or similar programs.
