Lake Valley Camp (LVC) is looking for an enthusiastic and committed youth worker to help guide and support our Milwaukee youth ages 13 -18 years old as they build community and leadership skills.
By supporting social and emotional well-being, academic achievement, community service, and college and career exploration we prepare our youth to serve as leaders in their communities and to excel in their education and growth.
During the school year, LVC teens will participate in programming on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings as well as Saturdays. Programming continues to develop each participant’s sense of self, community and leadership. Participants learn about community opportunities and resources and how to access them through projects, presentations, field trips and community partners. They expand their knowledge of themselves, their communities, resources and community leaders while developing the skills necessary to be agents of change at the local and global level.
The Teen Program Coordinator will serve as a support to our Urban Program Managers during evening programming, Teen Friday nights, Neighborhood events, and at Saturday workshops, and occasional organizational special events for an average of 10-15 hours per week. The Urban Programs Coordinator may also be asked to serve as support during weekend retreats in the fall and spring at Lake Valley Camp’s resident camp facility located in Boscobel.
