Responsibilities

Build connections with the birth centers and referring providers for newborn testing
Support the vestibular practice at the Bandana Square Clinic.
To evaluate, fit and repair hearing instruments and counsel patients regarding their use and to manage the hearing aid dispensary to maximize patients ability to communicate
To provide audiologic services to patients who are self-referrals or have been referred by other physicians and professionals and to document and communicate results appropriately
To diagnose hearing loss and provide appropriate management
Provide audiologic support to the ENT service to accurately assess patients' hearing status so that appropriate medical/surgical treatment and/or auditory rehabilitation can be provided
Perform and interpret electrophysiologic testing (ABR, OAE, VNG) on referred patients. To provide additional diagnostic information as well as confirmation of behavioral test results on children
Perform the following services on a regular basis: balance disorders, tinnitus, hearing conservation testing, auditory processing disorders, audiologic assessment (birth to elderly), hearing instrument dispensing, cochlear implant candidacy assessment, cerumen management and aural rehabilitation groups
Establishes their own patient base above and beyond what is referred by the ENT
Participation in community events 2+% of time per year
Newsletter development for patient care and marketing of business
Statistical analysis of success of initiatives or project work
Newspaper interviews as requested

Education

Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology.

Qualification/Skills

Skills

Ability to provide diagnostic evaluations and recommendations to patients of all ages, particularly children under the age of 3
Knowledge and interest in hearing aid fitting and dispensing procedures
Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other professionals
Licensure/Certification

Board certification by the American Board of Audiology and/or the certificate of clinical competence (C.C.C.) from American Speech and Hearing Association
Audiology registration and hearing aid dispensing certificate from Minnesota Department of Health

Work Schedule

Flexibility in the day to day job duties to adjust to patient needs/volume
This position could be .8 FTE to 1.0 FTE based on candidate preference. Hours are weekdays, day hours.
