Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have played a prominent role in military operations, and are frequently deployed for missions that are dangerous, dirty, or difficult with unparalleled efficiency and safety. Once limited to US border surveillance, environmental monitoring, and research, UAV are now poised to be a critical part of a growing field of industries, including transportation, agriculture, infrastructure.

If you want to be a part of this growing technology areas, consider a career at ENSCO. We are a prominent player in the emerging UAV market, leveraging our 40-year legacy in mission assurance and safety for government agencies and commercial customers. We leverage our reputation and expertise in avionics equipment and certification to design and build systems that facilitate operations and make UAS safer and more reliable to fly in the National Airspace System (NAS).

With the typical UAV now potentially operating in the same space as commercial aircraft, control of the aircraft at a system level is becoming more critical than ever. ENSCO engineers develop Model-Based Designs for avionic control devices as well as top-level system controls connecting the devices. This tight double loop closure architecture ensures not only safe but also consistent operation of the avionic systems. Model-Based Designs create system level solutions in a fraction of the time that traditional systems use, and help create the structure for future designs in the process.

ENSCO Avionics, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a software engineer skilled in Model-Based Design of embedded control system software. The right candidate will be part of a technical team that supports Model-Based Development activities for real-time mission and safety critical embedded control systems. The work utilizes MathWorks MATLAB software for the analytical analysis of the aircraft models and Simulink for the model build and simulation environment. The task will include the generation and review of models, and the associated verification efforts required to satisfy Airborne safety requirements. To satisfy FAA standards all design and test documentation will be performed in controlled environments of Synergy and DOORS.

At ENSCO, we take our tagline “Ideas to Reality” very seriously. Joining ENSCO is an opportunity to transform technology into solutions to some of the world’s most important challenges.
