We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Human Resources team as the East Regional Human Resources Leader for Infrastructure Operations.
Based in Herndon and reporting to the Human Resources Leader for AWS Infrastructure (Infra) Operations, this individual will be the primary HR leader for the AWS Infrastructure Operations East Region. This role is part of a fun and passionate global HR and data center operations team and requires strong leadership and team collaboration across the West Regional leadership team, as well as Amazon wide projects and HR initiatives. You will work to lead the people strategy, aligning back to the business strategy across our talent needs and objectives. The human resources leader is both a strategic and hands on role including improving organizational effectiveness & design, leading change management, providing leadership coaching and driving HR functional excellence.
We are looking for a Human Resource leader who has the ability to diagnose issues and influence solutions/outcomes. The individual in this role must be able to interface effectively across all levels of the organization. You will need business acumen, excellent communication skills, influence skills, strategic thinking and planning/project management skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment.
Responsibilities for the role include:
Partner with operations leadership to develop and implement HR solutions to accelerate the retention and development of talent.
Function as a consultant and counselor to key leaders and their respective organizations; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs into HR plans.
Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.
Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
Partner with the business to lead our Organization and Leadership Review, which focuses on succession planning, talent development and organizational health priorities.
Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling.
Work with line managers and employees to address various employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests.
Partner with the AWS talent acquisition team to build systemic and scalable recruiting programs to create a sustainable pipeline of talent.
Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the client group.
Provide inspiring leadership of Sr. HRBP team.
Drive operational excellence and efficiency in HR processes to enable the organization to hire and develop talent at scale and consistently to Amazon principles.
Lead a direct team of HRBPs across the West Region.
Bachelor’s Degree required in Human Resources Management or related field.
Candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in an HR leadership role with broad knowledge and experience in human resource management. Previous labor relations experience a plus.
At least 3 years experience leading and developing senior HR Business Partners.
Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field is preferred.
Able to travel, as needed.
Excellent business acumen and an ability to understand a P&L.
Depth of pragmatic experience with compensation planning, negotiation, and implementation.
An ability and desire to own a space, provide thought leadership, and catalyze results.
Strong judgment and employee relations experience.
Demonstrated achievements in coaching, influencing and problem solving.
Experience assessing management and executive talent.
Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory, including employee relations, development and performance appraisal systems.
3-4 years HR experience in a high tech environment.
