Human Resource Generalist
Position Core Role:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely with both leaders and associates in supporting Honda of America’s manufacturing operations.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
Be an effective Strategic business partner with assigned manufacturing departments.
Develop and execute activities and tasks to achieve strategic objectives and to advocate for the associate.
Collect data and apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems.
Independently generate options for business decisions, make daily decisions related to plant HR.
Effectively lead and/or support project themes and business plan initiatives.
Effectively sell ideas, securing buy in from individuals or team and communicate company initiatives.
Demonstrate technical proficiency with HR expertise.
Continuously build technical HR knowledge.
Building relationships with leadership and associates “at the spot”.
Consult, mentor and support the development leadership to improve business characteristics.
Conduct investigations and provide feedback as needed.
Proactively gather, analyze and assess sentiment on a frequent basis both formally and informally to continuously improve and enhance department practices and policies to advocate for the associate.
Conduct thorough and factual investigations and manage investigation database.
Presence at key points for customers (departments and associates).
Provide project support as requested/needed. Continuously seek ways to improve the business.
Build technical expertise in HR/Labor relations. Communicate company level initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills along with basic PC skills.
Good judgment and decision making capabilities.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Capability to address complex issues with a win win resolution.
Broad technical knowledge of HR, labor relations, case management, investigations, employment law practices, policies and trends. Strong planning and organizational skills.
Strong capability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to ever changing priorities and needs.
Minimum of two years with an HR related degree.
Minimum of three years with relevant experience and no HR related degree.
Minimum of five years of relevant experience with no degree.
HR or Business or relevant degree BA/BA or equivalent experience.
Multiple-plant assignment/support is possible
