This is a great opportunity to get involved in Microsoft’s new mobile-first, cloud-first strategy by creating new solutions that enable small businesses to build and maintain connections to existing and potential customers.

We are a new group and looking for highly motivated Software Engineers to explore new applications and services that address the important small business customer segment as part of Microsoft’s suite of Office 365 products. These applications will be available across all prominent operating systems and devices with services deployed in Azure and the Substrate Services. In addition to the new applications and services, this group will also explore ways to deliver these applications and services faster leveraging best practices from startups. The projects that this position will work on will involve deep platform work from storage layers to business logic, API layers to exposing readily consumable scalable services.

Basic Qualifications:
At least 10+ years of experience building server/service applications required

Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience designing, developing and scaling services required
Experience with mid-tier development, web services, networking and/or database development is highly preferred. Hands on experience in architectural design and implementing of large scale big data use cases
Proficiency in object-oriented development with C# and .NET programming required. Experience with Java and C++ a plus
Development experience using Exchange is a big plus
DevOps experience supporting live-site and production systems
Excellent technical, cross group collaboration and communication skills with ability to drive V1 products and work through ambiguity
Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven with a high tolerance to ambiguity and ability make progress in the face of it
