Currently, we are on the lookout for both a part-time and a full-time Medical Scribe to join our team. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for handling all clerical and IT tasks for a healthcare provider in a clinical setting, with a primary focus on managing electronic health records. The successful candidate should possess the ability to anticipate the provider's needs in order to maintain the clinic's workflow. It is important for the Medical Scribe to demonstrate discretion, tact, and modesty while performing duties to ensure that patient care is not compromised. Strong judgment, organizational skills, initiative, attention to detail, and self-motivation are crucial for this role. Adaptability, versatility, and dependability are also key qualities we are looking for in a Medical Scribe.

Job Duties
Direct Patient Care Responsibilities
- Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the provider, including but not limited to, patient medical history and physical exam, procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals including patient education, provider dictated diagnoses and instructions for patients or family members for self-care and follow-up
- Observe for mistakes or inconsistencies in documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors. Ensure that all clinical data, lab or other test results, interpretation of the results by the provider are recorded accurately in the medical record. Alert provider when chart is incomplete.
- Update home medications in the E.H.R that are prescribed or discontinued during the clinic visit
General Patient Care Responsibilities
- Locate information in the E.H.R or chart such as labs, radiology reports, etc. as requested by provider.
- Assist nurse and provider as needed by scheduling various tests (MRIs, Ultrasound, Nuclear Med, etc.)
- Assist nurse and provider by sending referrals as needed
- Assist the nurse and provider by faxing medication refill requests to the pharmacy and document refills in E.H.R
Indirect patient/Resident Care Responsibilities
- Clerical tasks such as answering phones, faxing, filing, follow up phone calls with patients, etc. as needed.
- Comply with HIPAA at all times.

Preferred Experience:
- Medical Terminology
- Year of experience as medical scribe
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word.
- Experience writing reports and correspondence. Excellent spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication.
- Ability to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete and concise fashion. Excellent English composition skills are required to generate professional polished writing at a high rate of production. Handwriting must be clear and legible.

Pay: $14.51 - $18.38 per hour
