MIC manages a full range of aftermarket vehicle protection products available to consumers, including vehicle service contracts and other ancillary F&I products. The team strives to identify market needs and introduce products to address those needs while protecting the company's financial returns, as well as supporting manufacturer partners' customer retention objectives.
The New Product Manager will report to the Director of Canadian Products, leading the development and integration of new products sold through various dealer networks and brands. This position will represent the function as primary contact, working closely with matrix partners throughout the company, including: Sales, Actuarial, Legal / Regulatory and Project Management.
Additionally, the New Product Manager will lead a team of individual contributors, accomplishing some tasks and duties through leadership and supervision of others, while teaching ideas, problem solving techniques, mentoring and concepts to reports.
Coordinate market analysis and competitive review through research and collaboration with matrix partners
Enhance product density through the development and introduction of value-added products
Manage and/or coordination of creation of point of sale material, bulletins, newsletters or communications
Work collaboratively with MIC's Dealer Training Specialists for the development of training material for dealership staff, manufacturer partners, MIC Account Executives and internal staff.
Work collaboratively with MIC's Account Executives and other field personnel, pertaining to product specific matters and identify opportunities supporting these brands towards implementation.
Propose, develop and execute tactical planning aligned to department strategy with limited supervision
Manage third party relationships associated with ancillary and fee income products
Manage corporate governance and reporting related to new product introductions
Develop/assist with internet, intranet and/or other website updates or re-design initiatives.
Maintain current knowledge about the industry, competition, market threats and challenges.
Maintain expertise with existing technologies and standards
Demonstrate a strong business acumen and ability to present new ideas/concepts
At least 5 years of retail or F&I experience
Bachelor's degree in business, finance or economics preferred
Strong understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment
High energy, results oriented with a strong work ethic and high degree of self-motivation
Proven ability to manage relationships
Fluency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated excellence in collaborating with internal and external business partners
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Bilingual (English/French) written and oral skills an asset, but not mandatory
