The Business Solutions Architect (BSA) role serves as the Expert in functional use of logistics systems and provides a conduit between Information Technology and the power user. This role is heavily involved with advancing our current implementations associated with shipping and transporting products with a focus on Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and JWS (Command Alkon). In addition to improving the current state, this role will be involved with all future technology upgrades/enhancements and additional implementations through time and growth that also are on our common platform JDE’s Enterprise One and its associated logistics systems.
This role is expected to be the Expert in our systems and processes for logistics. They will identify challenges and provide solutions, and lead development related projects from business case, through design, to implementation. The role has a heavy emphasis on ensuring effective functional and technical solutions, and testing.
The BSA will work routinely with the power users in Logistics, with consultants and/or technical support from OTM & JWS, and with our internal IT leads or other BSA’s in delivering solutions. Additionally, this role will participate on a business solutions team and as an ad-hoc member of the logistics team and will report to the VP of IT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Serves as the primary lead and project manager for all logistics developments, configuration improvements, enhancements, & fixes. Leads projects and issues list.
Generates and documents the functional and process design for all developments. Serves as the “go-to” for developers.
Provides expertise in the optimal use of the OTM and logistics tools, ensuring the company generates the greatest value from current tools. Primary areas of expertise include Rating & Routing, Transportation Planning, Dock Scheduler, payment & voucher, carrier portals; as well as bulk scale integration feeds.
Provide daily and routine trouble shooting for logistics related systems (OTM as the initial focus), in support of power users and business continuity.
Monitor and support all Transmission manager (OTM) integrations and improvements including (Master Data, Orders, Trans Arranged, Ship Confirms, Trans Confirm, EDI 210, and Vouchers) and resolves transactions that power users are not able (Shipped Not Posted and Scale ticket Exceptions).
Leads 3rd party functional consultants priorities and work assignments.
Provides advance training.
Is the Security Administrator for logistics based systems
Ensures the systems are meeting the user response time’s needs, by running diagnostics or engaging IT for technical or infrastructure support.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of advanced OTM experience in set up and configuration. Must have advanced working expertise in at least several of the following key OTM focus areas: Agent workflows, Rating & Routing, Planning, Dock Scheduler, Voucher Match & Freight Pay, Carrier Portal, & Transmission Manager.
Prefer a prior OTM implementation experience in a same/similar role as BSA.
Prefer OTM version 6.4.1.
Will consider a super user; if additionally have development related project experience.
Prefer candidate with direct experience using JD Edwards Enterprise One (ERP system); Version 9.1.
Prefer prior experience implementing systems, working on integrations, and a strong knowledge in developing functional and/or technical specifications and documentation.
Strong project management aptitude. Prefer project management experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or Related Experience. Master’s Degree a plus.
Excellent problem resolution skills.
Prefer SQL experience with basic Commands.
