We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic computational scientist to join the laboratory and lead the bioinformatics analysis of these transcriptomic studies.
The Computational Biologist:
The Kean Laboratory uses state-of-the-art transcriptomic technologies to determine the mechanisms controlling T cell pathology driving both post-transplant graft-versus-host disease and autoimmunity.
To qualify, you must have:
Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, physics, or related discipline (or equivalent research/industrial experience).
The ability to lead and a project to accomplish a complex set of goals.
The ability to apply statistical and machine learning techniques to solve big data problems.
Experience developing algorithms and proficiency in coding (C/C++, Perl, Python, JAVA, Scala, or equivalent).
Significant experience in data analysis languages/environments (R, MATLAB, or equivalent).
The ability to synthesize information from other disciplines to achieve broad-based goals.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of faculty and staff in a highly collaborative and intellectually challenging environment.
