Reporting directly to the Group Leader, this role researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials for clients according to their desires, needs, and financial resources. Periodic travel to construction sites and other Jacobs offices should be anticipated.

The Architecture Discipline Director will perform the following tasks:

Responsible for the direction and design leadership of the architectural studio
Supervise project design teams with guidance by an Architectural Design Principal
Assist project design teams to develop plans and programs for project(s)
Coordinates and integrates all other discipline elements into unified design for client review and approval
Conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with detailed design documents
Monitors project design team actual work performed and estimates to complete compared to budgets
Monitors architectural project scope development and changes, tracking adjustments to the projected project construction cost
Prepares client project presentations studies, and reports
Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project
Represents organization, with internal and external personnel, on significant matters
Perform business development, networking and marketing activities related to securing clients and winning programs/projects within the specified market as required

Qualifications

Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of relevant architectural experience leading multi-discipline teams and developing multi-discipline design solutions
BA/BS or Bachelors in Architecture
Architecture registration in the U.S. or other countries with applicable requirements
Familiarity with building code requirements
Project Management and project production team lead experience
Strong organizational, communications (both verbal and written) skills, and leadership abilities
Ability to effectively coordinate with internal architectural and engineering team members

Preferred:
Masters in Architecture
Design/Program experience in Institutional or Corporate programs
General knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD
Proficiency with Navisworks, Sketch-up and Adobe Creative Suite
Participation in professional organizations
