The Position Human Resources Assistant

Reporting Relationship Human Resources Director

FLSA Status Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Provide administration and clerical support to the Human Resources Department.


 Accept and process all applications, pre-screen applicants and schedule first interviews with the appropriate department head.

 Efficiently and accurately sort all incoming and outgoing correspondence.

 Coordinate preparation of all new hire paperwork, associate files and related card files. Accurately prepare and distribute new hire packet, order and distribute name tags and coordinate associate lock/locker system, while providing a courteous and welcoming attitude for new associates.

 Maintain adequate supply of a variety of office and operational materials including forms, applications, office supplies and reorders as needed.

 Accurately type memorandums, reports, policy statements, general correspondence, training materials, associate newsletters, etc.

 Responsible for all the record keeping in accordance to company and applicable state / federal laws.

 Assist in the planning of associate relation activities (annual Christmas party, annual picnic, all-associate meeting, birthday / anniversary celebrations, etc).

 Keep accurate files of all department meetings, job descriptions and job vacancy postings.

 Maintain the Human Resources office in the absence of the Director of Human Resources.

 Handle associate requests and/or problems which may arise.

 Accurately, efficiently and timely process benefit and Worker's Compensation information in order to comply with all applicable laws.

 Perform other duties as may be required by the General Manager, Director of Human Resources or Corporate Human Resources Department. Requirements:

 Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for clarification when needed  Strong work ethic.

 Lift and carry approximately thirty (30) pounds

 Excellent oral and written communication skills

 Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ten-key calculator

 Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

 Ideal candidate must have relevant degree or equivalent in Human Resources and minimum 1 years work experience as HR or Office Assistant.

 Accurately type 50-60 words per minute; efficiently use computer equipment for generating spreadsheets, reports and other general word processing documents.

Essential Functions:

 Position requires the availability to work flexible days Monday through Sunday including holidays.

 Position requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
