CPA/Tax Preparer for Remote Work Assignments

Love working on taxes, but not meeting with clients – this position could be the one for you. We are currently seeking an experienced CPA/Tax Preparer for Part Time to Full Time, working remotely to prepare tax returns for individuals, business entities and fiduciaries. In addition to tax preparation, the candidate will work on other miscellaneous accounting/tax projects that are associated with the services our CPA firm provides to our clients.

This is a remote position, so your location is flexible. Must be located in the United States.

Job Description

  • Preparation of individual, fiduciary, corporate and partnership tax returns
  • Addressing and writing response letters to tax authorities
  • Tax planning and tax estimates
  • Meets all deadlines regarding return preparation and tax projects
  • Facilitates communication with the tax team regarding information needed to complete an accurate tax return
  • Reviews financial records, such as prior tax return forms, income statements, and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare return

Qualifications

  • Three years of tax preparation experience required in a CPA/EA office
  • Strong computer skills are required; this is a paperless office. A level of comfort working in a technologically-advanced environment is required
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters products is a plus
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Proficient in Excel and Adobe PDF
  • Highly organized and values attention to detail
  • Able to track and work on multiple projects at once
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional attitude, demeanor, and appearance
