Rescue provides behavior change marketing services (or "social marketing") to government, non-profit and corporate organizations. Rescue's current work focuses on tobacco, obesity, violence and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, fresh foods and after school programs; and other products and services that promote healthy living.

Rescue is a full-service agency, providing research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to clients in over a dozen states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.

The Job

We are looking for a dynamic, high performing Market Manager (AKA an Events Coordinator) to act as our local brand manager for the Company’s LGBT young adult tobacco prevention brand. The successful Market Manager candidate will have preexisting knowledge of the local LGBT nightlife and events scene including experience managing and promoting events in local LGBT bars/clubs, recruiting & training event staff and brand ambassadors, event planning, coordinating with social venues, and developing community partnerships to drive engagement with the brand in your market.

Day-To-Day Activities:

  • Plan, manage and execute LGBT events, special nights at LGBT bars and clubs, drag shows, festivals, meet & greets, media hosted engagements, and other LGBT related activations, including managing budget, event promotions, securing artists, DJs and other community influencers/entertainment, activation set-up/breakdown, negotiating with venues, managing and scheduling staff, onsite messaging and experiential marketing;
  • Establish a local following of young adult leaders whom express brand pride and willingness to belong to a community and support the movement;
  • Recruit, train and manage local young adults to support the brand as event staff and brand ambassadors;
  • Coordinate and work with local team members, contractors and outside parties such as community leaders, venue owners, booking agents, promoters, street team members, artists, DJs, media personalities, retail owners, bar/club managers, local gay or lesbian event promoters, and LGBT cultural influencers;

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience which must include significant category expertise in live event logistics and management, mobile marketing / mobile tours, LGBT-targeted activations, youth/young adult activation, custom event creation and creative elements;
  • Strong knowledge of local LGBT culture and community in your market including current list of relevant LGBT contacts in the market for recruiting event staff and securing venues for events;
  • Experience planning, coordinating and managing events and event staff in a deadline driven environment;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize numerous projects at once;
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • It is required that the Market Manager have a current, valid drivers license, at least 3 years of driving history, and have an acceptable MVR as defined by IES required standards for transporting event materials and collateral to and from events;

Location: This person will work remotely in Atlanta, GA.

Status: Full-time Position of Limited Duration. This position is directly funded by a specific project that will last between 6 and 24 months. This position will be eliminated when the project has ended, which will be anywhere from 6 - 24 months.

Travel: Frequent Local Travel Within Market

The Fine Print

You will be managed by and reporting to employees of Rescue. However, you will actually be employed by Innovative Employee Solutions (IES), the company we are using to payroll employees for this project.

It is required that the Market Manager have a current, valid drivers license, at least 3 years of driving history, and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as defined by IES required standards for transporting event materials and collateral to and from events. Must have reliable transportation, and computer and Internet access. Must be available to work non-traditional hours such as late nights and weekends. All business-related environments are tobacco-free. Non-tobacco-use is highly preferred because we only have tobacco-free environments and also to be consistent with our tobacco prevention campaign goals.

Physical Requirements:

Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Must be able to move promotional materials and brand collateral, up to 40 pounds, into and out of storage for travel by car to and from engagements, and work standing for 4-6 hours.
