ZSi-Foster is a leading supplier of metal framing, coupling, and clamping products serving the general industrial, fluid power, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical/plumbing and electrical end markets. The company sells a broad product portfolio with over 13,000 SKUs to a diverse customer base of distributors and OEMs. Founded in 1987, ZSi manufactures cushioned clamping and support mechanisms for hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Foster Manufacturing, founded in 1946, manufactures quick detachable couplers, fittings, blowguns and related accessories. Wesanco, founded in 1973, manufactures a full line of metal framing channel (strut) and accessories. Summary:

This position is responsible for providing technical support for the couplers product line including designing and developing products, brochures and technical sales tools, from customer specifications or sales department requests. Working with Operations team, the product engineer is responsible for the integration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer Sales technical inquirers.
  • Support Sales and Marketing in the development of brochures and technical sales tools
  • Explore feasibility of all sales requests for new products
  • Clean up current drawings
  • Expand Product offering
  • Map and prioritize product gaps to facilitate new product development
  • Build process to prioritize new product initiatives and drive portfolio expansion
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Generate drawings to accompany sourcing RFP's
  • Support the solution of sourced product quality issues
  • Generate a drawing for 2 ways shut off product to enable us to hold our supplier accountable for manufacturing quality
  • Design and develop a product or product family.
  • Ensure production procedures efficiently utilize materials, methods and personnel.
  • Establish test procedures for quality assurance of finished product
  • Work with external resources to resolve product issues.
  • Work with external design resources to ensure quality design and performance.
  • Assist in selection of material.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

BS: Engineering

Must have 5+ Manufacturing experience/ Product Engineering

Experience with Metal/Fittings/Steel products

Proficient: Microsoft Products: Excel, PP, Word, print & 3D modeling applications

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • ERP Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
