What You’ll Do
The DFS Corporate Compliance department seeks a Lead Compliance Specialist for its Metrics, Monitoring and Governance team who will support the Company’s Enterprise Privacy and Fair Banking (EPFB) programs to assess adherence with federal and state regulatory requirements and evaluate processes that mitigate regulatory risks within the Company. The Lead Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Principal and Senior Manager of the EPFB team in its mission to (a) establish standards for the program and (b) assess ongoing programs and key metrics to ensure continuous visibility into key risks within the Company.
How You’ll Do It
Assists with the development of technology tools that improve effectiveness and efficiencies in an ever-changing regulatory environment.
Assists with research of EPFB regulatory compliance requirements and evaluating the adequacy of key metrics, monitoring programs and governance of business systems and manual processes.
Assists with the strategic objectives, identification and assessment of compliance program risks and controls related to EPFB programs.
Supports management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and a culture of compliance.
Assists with the preparation of status reports of program initiatives, activities, and compliance issues to management and committees.
Qualifications You’ll Need
Bachelor's degree required
4+ years of experience in project management, compliance, risk, operations, governance, or related field
Bonus Points If You Have
5+ years of experience in compliance, banking, or similar function with a specific understanding of regulatory requirements, consumer harm and internal controls
Knowledge of consumer regulations
Ability to identify risk and control data points within various business process
Proven track record of implementing change within a complex environment
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to discern the practical application of regulatory and legal requirements
Advanced proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook (Visio proficiency a plus)
Professional certification within the fields of compliance or audit
Broad knowledge of Discover business processes, procedures, and systems
Intermediate or Advanced Skills in Tableau, Sharepoint, BlueWorks Live, Teradata
