Personal Injury Paralegal

Steven H. Schafer & Associates, LLC - Framingham, MA

Full-timeEstimated: $41,000 - $54,000 a year

Small, boutique plaintiffs’ personal injury firm will be opening a MetroWest/Route 128 office in mid-February 2019. The office will be located a very short distance from the Route 30 – Natick/Framingham exit on the Mass Pike.

We have an opening for an experienced paralegal to work on substantial cases involving the fields of medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, nursing home negligence, auto and trucking collisions, sexual harassment, and wrongful death. At any given time, however, we handle a limited caseload.

Paralegals in our office do not do “make work” assignments, but enjoy working on cases involving people with real harms and losses for whom we can make a real difference. Paralegals are an integral part of our small team, and contribute significantly to the progress of our cases. Paralegal responsibilities include the following areas:

  • Screening initial inquiries from potential clients
  • Securing, organizing, reading and summarizing medical records, investigative reports, accident records, and other documents
  • Document management
  • Performing technical and medical research
  • Assisting with case investigation, sometimes in the office and sometimes in the field
  • Preparing initial drafts of answers to interrogatories and responses to requests for production
  • Assisting at depositions and at trial
  • Communications with clients, witnesses, experts, and vendors, and scheduling
