Trade Receivables Securitization Finance

The Trade Receivables Securitization Finance (“TRSF”) team manages a portfolio of securitized lending exposures backed by trade receivables originated by clients in a wide variety of industries. The current size of the portfolio exceeds $3 billion in commitments and is expected to continue to grow (more than doubled over the past 3 years), producing significant revenue and attractive returns. The TRSF team’s Portfolio Manager (“PM”) is responsible for or has involvement in managing all aspects of the portfolio, including client engagement, transaction structuring, credit underwriting, portfolio surveillance, as well as portfolio administration and compliance. The new TRSF Analyst will provide critical support to the PM in all areas.

The TRSF product is a core capital structure offering to large and mid-size corporate and commercial clients of the bank. TRSF works a great deal with client management, credit products officers, enterprise capital management, and other product and support groups (asset based lending, leveraged finance, Risk, and many others) to bring creative and attractive financing solutions to bank clients. While the majority of transactions are in the U.S., TRSF has a global mandate. In addition to supporting the PM, the TRSF Analyst will be actively involved in the origination of new transactions. Over time the TRSF Analyst will be groomed for an origination or PM role.

TRSF Analyst - Position Overview

The PM is responsible for up to 20 asset-backed financing positions, covering a wide variety of clients. The PM maintains thorough knowledge of his or her clients, portfolios, transaction structures and industry developments, and works closely with internal client management, corporate credit coverage, credit services and numerous other internal and external parties involved in the transaction process. The TRSF Analyst will initially be assigned more than 10 transactions (mainly in the U.S., but also one in the U.K. and one in Australia) and will support the PM, Originator and TRSF Team Leader through the following responsibilities:

Draft client proposals, RFP responses, due diligence summaries, credit approval reports and other documents as part of the transaction origination and approval processes
Engage with business partners and other members of the client team to facilitate various aspects of the transaction management process
Participate in telephonic and on-site client due diligence visits
Generate detailed collateral analysis and reporting models
Monitor and highlight key performance metrics / trends related to collateral, clients and industries
Maintain transaction pricing / return models, pipeline reporting, as well as portfolio surveillance files
Assist in the maintenance of electronic credit and documentation files in accordance with business requirements and legal / regulatory compliance standards
Prepare monthly regulatory capital reports and respond to ad hoc reporting / information requests
Prepare monthly and quarterly business activity and performance reports
Develop a solid knowledge of the processes, procedures, and systems, both internal and external to TRSF, which drive the business
The opening is for an Analyst position in Charlotte, NC (Ballantyne). Qualifications include:

Undergraduate degree and strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
Ideally 1-3 years of related experience (e.g. corporate / commercial credit, client or portfolio management, finance, asset based lending, or business experience related to securitization)
Strong analytical / quantitative skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
