Opened as Mary's Help Hospital in 1912, Seton Medical Center, a 357 licensed bed facility serves the highly diverse 1.5 million residents of San Francisco and San Mateo counties with a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. Its sister hospital is Seton Coastside, a 116-bed skilled nursing facility located in the coastal town of Moss Beach. Seton Coastside offers the only 24-hour Standby Emergency Department along the 55-mile coastal stretch between Daly City and Santa Cruz.
The Client Service Representative is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling exams and other office duties to ensure the smooth running of the Radiology department.
MAJOR JOB OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets patients and provides instruction to patients and the general public according to hospital and department standards.
Answers the Radiology Department phones giving instruction, assistance and taking messages as required.
Schedules patient exams according to department standards providing pre-procedure instructions and information.
Sorts and distributes departmental mail.
Completes documentation according to the hospital and department guidelines, including computer entry.
Follows department quality control plan performing measures as assigned. Immediately informs supervisor of equipment malfunction.
In all duties used supplies and resources efficiently and cost effectively. May be responsible for specific inventory.
As assigned, completes quality assurance by due date.
Participates in training of personnel on departmental duties.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer scheduling experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Radiology/Medical Office experience preferred
- Filing experience
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to be a patient advocate
