Provides support for stabilizing, standardizing, simplifying and sustaining process excellence/continual service improvement work across the IT organization. Provides expert consultation in the areas of issue identification, issue analysis, and process redesign. Trains, mentors, and coaches associates at all levels in the organization regarding the application of process improvement philosophies, tools, and principles. Active in developing problem solvers to improve operational metrics such as, but not limited to: patient safety, quality, cycle time, rework, financial stewardship, and employee satisfaction. Facilitates improvement workshops and manages engagements through the entire engagement lifecycle. Position may function at multiple levels in the organization, including single department, interdepartmental, and corporate wide. Project assignments must be completed effectively, tactfully, and objectively with full regard to the uniqueness of the health care and an information technology environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and

Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

Partners with executives, managers, and associates to identify improvement engagements, build sponsorship, and gain resource commitments.

Identifies and works with key stakeholders to properly scope, plan, and determine the quantitative and qualitative benefits of improvement engagements.

Facilitates improvement engagements to lead teams of business and technical professionals in the redesign and/or creation of business processes in accordance with customer and business specifications.

Keeps executive leadership, project team members, and business owners apprised of improvement engagement status to ensure deliverables are met and potential risks are identified and remediated

Ensures the effective closure of improvement engagements by capturing knowledge, calculating benefits, and communicating to key stakeholders.

Trains, mentors, and coaches associates at all levels in the organization regarding the application of Lean and Six Sigma philosophies, tools, and principles.

Prepares periodic written reports for presentation to executive leadership summarizing, at a high level, activities, accomplishments, and future recommendations.

Creates and captures improvement engagement evidence in electronic format utilizing applications such as Minitab, Visio, and iGrafx, and tools, such as, SIPOC, Critical-to-Quality tree, swim lane process flow diagram, process flow chart, value stream map, Pareto chart, cause-and-effect diagram, impact and difficulty matrix, RACI matrix, and FMEA.

Helps maintain the Process Excellence infrastructure, which includes, but isn’t limited to, knowledge management, communication, rewards and recognition, project governance, website maintenance, and training.

Other duties as needed and assigned by the Senior Process Excellence Consultant.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
