CACI’s Business and Information Technology Solutions (BITS) Sector, is seeking a fully cleared Sr. Windows Systems Engineer to support a large, prime Intelligence contract in Hanover, MD. This Program provides mission critical Enterprise Application Messaging and Authorization Services worldwide. It is comprised of complex data transport, enterprise audit, authorization services, information transport services/application messaging, and enterprise application hosting services.
What You’ll Get to Do:
As a senior member of a cross-functional team, you will provide Windows systems engineering expertise and guidance for a critical enterprise-wide messaging system used in the Information Transport Service (ITS) program. You will be responsible for platform hosting and performance, providing subject matter expertise on Windows servers for hardware and virtual machine instantiations.
More About the Role:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Windows environments and have expert knowledge and skills in using Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2012R2 and Windows 2016 or higher)
Engineer, integrate, design and deploy various Windows components and expert knowledge in Active Directory, Group Policy, digital certificates, multi factor integration, DNS and DHCP
Create baselines for Windows Server 2012 or higher with the appropriate DISA STIGS applied for Windows 2012R2 and Windows 2016 or higher.
Monitor and correct critical server issues and create recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks.
Use native, add on tools, and third-party tools to troubleshoot malfunctions, optimizations.
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems and is kept up to date to include inventory and patch levels of all systems to include hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, number of cores, number of processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts as required
Integrate systems with Windows as it applies to authentication and core services dependencies such single sign-on and Active Directory.
Engineer and implement solutions for multi-factor authentication with standardized software and hardware.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and 10 years Systems Engineering experience. Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
Current TS/SCI Polygraph
Experience installing and maintaining MS Windows Server (2008/2012/2016)
Experience with scripting (batch, VBScript) but PowerShell experience preferred
Experience working in an Active Directory environment
Experience with various services in a MS Windows environment (e.g., DNS, DHCP)
Experience setting up and maintaining Windows server firewalls in a domain-based environment
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
General experience with storage subsystem technologies (e.g., SAN/Fiber channel, LUNs)
General experience with virtualization technologies
Experience setting up and maintaining Group Policy and Local Policy configurations
Experience patching servers and applying/managing DISA STIGs
Experience with requirements definition and management as well as risk management
Able to clearly communicate technical issues and ideas orally and written to superiors and subordinates across all engineering disciplines
