We are part of the SIMULIA Brand within the Dassault Systemes organization. SIMULIA is responsible for the 3D Simulation topic in the company, including the development of Abaqus, TOSCA, fe-safe, Simpack, PowerFLOW, Xflow, CST Studio Suite.
Our team is delivers technical solutions and sales & marketing assets to targeted markets in the Aerospace & Defense industry, with an increased focus on data analytics.
As a team, we:
Work with our R&D and CTO office teams to understand how to connect the dots between Dassault Systèmes’ breadth of technologies to deliver best-in-class solutions to our users.
Work on developing and sharing advanced technical workflows for data analytics.
Analyze the simulation landscape for the market of Aerospace and Defense to drive the definition of our solutions and provide guidance to sales teams.
Engage directly with early adopters of our solutions and work with users to perfect our technologies in order to fit their needs and address their challenges
Develop marketing assets to evangelize the benefits of our solutions
Organize meetings and events to gather and energize the simulation community
As part of the Aerospace and Defense Initiative team, you will help identify and define key technical workflows in the area of data analytics, as well as promoting them internally and externally.
This is a paid 3-months internship from May - August 2019 located in the Dassault Systemes SIMULIA Corp. Headquarters, 1301 Atwood Ave, in Johnston, RI.

What will Your Role Be?
We operate very much like a small start-up within our global organization, so there are opportunities to touch on various topics, including:
Playing a technical role in the engineering applications using Dassault
Systemès software solutions.
Work collaboratively in a team on complex engineering projects.
Determine requests and enhancement needs; advise on solution path; deliver best solutions to internal and external projects.
Research, test and deploy new functionalities to validate engineering applications; develop best practice and solution kit; ensure highest quality and reliability of the simulation solutions in a production environment.
Adapting and applying state-of-the-art data analytics techniques for industrial product design and simulation.
Research, design, and develop innovative data analytics framework and accelerators for a range of industrial applications from first-principles thinking to the development and deployment of live solutions.
Incorporate other project disciplines to ensure successful integration of solutions for complete product user experience.

Your Key Success Factors
Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or PhD program for the duration of the internship
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0
Working onsite at 3DS Providence Campus for the duration of the internship
Strong background in engineering design, manufacture and simulations.
In-depth technical knowledge of AI, deep learning, and machine learning algorithms with proven experience.
Fundamental knowledge of statistical data processing, regression techniques, neural networks, decision trees, clustering, pattern recognition, probability theory, stochastic systems.
Solid experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
Strong experience in C++, fortran, python programming and scripting.
Knowledge of CATIA or SolidWorks is a plus.
Strong functional use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
"Get things done" attitude, with a personality that doesn't fade when encountering a rapidly-evolving environment.
Ability to work effectively in both a collaborative team structure and independently
Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
