The GTA Excellence Programs Team contributes to the all-up mission by enabling productivity and impact through global programs. We deliver the overall programs strategy and roadmap for the organization & then see that strategy through to execution.

Responsibilities
This Sr. PM role will focus on global recruiting programs and projects. Much of the work will focus on the role of PMO (Program Management Office) for the GTA Ecosystem. Other focus areas will include Program Management duties, such as design and delivery of processes and tools that support GTAs talent acquisition strategies).

The PMO role creates structured schedules and project plans based on the project goals, resources needed, potential risks, time to market, and budget constraints. By partnering with colleagues in different roles to assess the workloads and impacts for different departments, the PMO will identify dependencies, risks, and issues across teams. The PMO will develop and communicate clear and actionable deliverables and activities to be completed, along with timelines.

Specific areas of responsibility of this job on a day-to-day basis include:

Project Execution and Governance

Tracking deadlines, deliverables, resources, and timelines throughout the project process. The PMO holds owners accountable for their commitments and will conduct project team meetings to provide status updates and identify and resolve issues.
Managing communications and status on weekly basis (different status reports are needed across the organization, so coordination will be important).
Adapt plans based on evolving needs, conditions, risk, or issues that may arise and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with the stated project goals.
Creating content for readiness materials & for other communications as needed (including stakeholders, managers, and leadership)
Ensure documentation, supporting materials, and project plans are updated and readily available for internal teams and senior leaders. Upon completion of a project, the PMO compiles and documents project information.
Monitoring the project against goals and investment vision, including using listening system input to help prioritize future scenarios and features
Conducting postmortems/after-action reviews and share learnings with team
Project Prioritization and Portfolio Alignment

At any given time, the PMO will be managing multiple projects for the organization, each with varying priority, timelines, and resource requirements. Given their broad scope both in working with colleagues from different departments and across multiple projects, PMOs are responsible for balancing projects and communicating priorities internally.
Creating a project dashboard, which outlines both the projects currently underway and those on the backlog, with the priority according to the overall business objectives. This information must be readily accessible within the organization, and to project teams and senior leaders, so they are able to see where attention and resources are currently being placed and adjust their workflows accordingly.
Process Improvement and Standards Development

Diving in to understand the staffing organization - learn how we staff at Microsoft - to help make better decisions and trade-offs for projects
Identify processes and activities to improve.

Understand the basic processes and standards of different departments across the organization
Identify workable process standards and best practices for how teams should approach projects, and then implement, document, and communicate the new procedures to the rest of the organization.

Qualifications
PMP Certification or equivalent project management experience required
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in driving programs/projects and deadlines
Experience in mid-large scale technical programs or projects, preferably at global scale, driving third-party partnerships/relationships
Demonstrated track record of project management as well as the ability to leverage audience appropriate communication skills to impact change at both the day to day and executive levels.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and respond favorably to change
Work well in tight deadline-driven, cross-group situations to develop solutions and communicate common results
Driving cross-team and third-party partnerships - often influencing without authority
Proven creative problem solving with a lens on candidate and recruiter experiences
