Salary Range: $25.81-$32.10
Summary of Duties: Under the direction of the Admitting Manager, responsible for gathering, completing, identifying and screening all patients for information related to an admission or registration. Registers all patients for services, and collects co-pays and deposits. Secures necessary authorizations for services. Maintains work queues. Orders ancillary tests, schedules appointments for certain tests, answers phones, and meets and greets patients.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Medical terminology course preferred.
Experience Requirements: Six (6) months to one (1) year on the job registration or admitting experience required . Understanding of insurance coverage and medical terminology for accurate recording of patient medical and financial information.
Special Skills or Abilities: 25 wpm typing required. Good verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required. Minimum 2-3 years experience with Windows Operating System and Windows based programs. Internet skills desired.
