Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Genetic Counseling Assistant - **IVF**.
In this role, the successful candidate will serve as an assistant to the genetic counselors for the NYU Langone Fertility Center and reports to the Director of Reproductive Genetics. The Genetic Counseling Assistant is responsible for reviewing genetic records, assisting various teams with completing patient genetic test orders, and tracking pending genetic tests, as well as other related duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with review of carrier screening for patients/partners and egg/sperm donors
- Assist with gathering medical records and review of previous genetic testing
- Knowledge of clinic’s current genetic testing protocols including genetics labs and fees
- Communicate with labs, patients, genetic counselors, nursing, medical assistants, and MDs
- Schedule genetic testing and coordination with checklist completion
- Assist genetics team with assigning relevant consents/waivers
- Assist with prior authorizations for genetic testing
- Track status of pending genetic tests
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of educational and clinical experience Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of carrier screening tests
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $39,601.12 - $50,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
