SUMMARY: The legal file clerk position combines the duties of receptionist, messenger, paralegal and more conventional file clerk tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Open and closes files, files documents, and keeps file room orderly.
- Greets visitors and ensure that conference rooms are prepared for meetings.
- Maintains the copier and is responsible for large copying and scanning projects.
- Delivers and retrieves documents from downtown and other locations and performs errands when requested by the attorneys and staff.
- Performs quasi-paralegal tasks such as indexing documents.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or completion of G.E.D.
- Valid driver's license
TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal relation skills.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Attention to detail.
HOURS:
- Monday through Friday 1:00pm to 5:00pm
