The Training Director is an experienced training professional with responsibility for providing the strategy, vision and leadership to ensure effective and complete development and execution of all training programs for our internal customers. The Director of Training will play an integral role in developing and maintaining a Training Center of Excellence, aligned to support the existing and emerging needs of the organization to ensure strong financial strength and operating efficiency.
The Director of Training is a thought leader on virtual learning environments (VLE), learning management systems (LMS), curriculum development and planning and learner engagement and assessment. Experience with designing and implementing distance learning programs using design software such as Articulate 360 a plus.
Things you'll do:
Develop and implement Training strategy, vision, plans and procedures.
Provide day to day leadership and management to the Training Team (Training Partners, Design & Instructors), incorporating core values of Protective and supporting business strategies.
Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all design & training processes; providing timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the business segment
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the Customer Experience operations.
Collaborate with applicable management teams to develop and implement plans for training including design of content, execution of facilitation and analysis of applicable data to ensure organizational requirements and objectives are met.
Thorough and demonstrated understanding of adult and modern learners. Ability to facilitate live learning sessions using modern learning approaches
Demonstrated experience using varied instructional design methods
Provide mentoring to the team; attract, recruit and retain key talent.
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with external vendor partners.
Explore and stay current on new or varied learning/ assessment methodologies and options, including e-learning formats.
7+ years providing and leading adult learning programs via multiple methodologies to varied audiences
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Performance coaching of managers and leaders
Planning, project management and project execution experience
Experience with MS Office, proficiency with developing audiovisual presentations, as well as designing content and activities for remote training, eLearning, virtual classrooms and speech driven analytics.
Strong performance consulting skills with ability to effectively probe, listen to evaluate and appropriately diagnose needs to drive creation of solutions
Understanding of adult learning theory, performance improvement, and development planning
Demonstrates a strong level of accountability and initiative
Strong organization and time management skills; competency in strategic planning and business development.
Master’s degree in related field
Experience or certification for various training & leadership assessments (ATD, …. etc.)
Experience with modern learning solutions including micro-learning, experiential learning solutions, and video-based learning platforms
Proficiency in Articulate 360 or other learning management systems and content authoring tools
Experience navigating and leading transformational change
