Role and Responsibilities
Project Engineer provides technical leadership for the design, development, production, test, and sell off of simulation training devices. Engineering skills in Systems, Hardware, Software, and Test are applied to technically coordinate medium and large size projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for understanding of the aircraft design and ensuring CAE flight simulation product matches the aircraft and meets contractual requirements.
Ensure that all functional areas within engineering are compliant to the technical requirements for each assigned project.
Schedule and coordinate hardware and software integration phase.
Command a clear understanding of Hardware and Software Integration (HSI) issues.
Implement corrective measures for all HSI issues that are not compliant to requirements.
Provide technical expertise during subjective and objective evaluations of training devices.
Manage the resolution of all acceptance faults. Participate in installations and final sell off of training devices. Coordinate and review technical/operational deliverables prior to submission to customer. Responsible for training device from requirements to final acceptance.
Customer Reviews (Author, coordinate, and lead presentations of formal reviews with customers as required by assigned project)
Provide support for Program Managers on all technical matters. Act as the focal point for all customer technical matters. Provide hands on solutions to hardware and software problems.
- Participate in new business efforts, acting as technical lead when called upon. Duties associated with new business include: Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimate reviews, Firm Fixed Price cost estimate reviews, Technical Specification generation and reviews, Responses to Request for Proposal (RFP), Technical supervision and assessment of sub-contracted efforts.
May provide guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
BS degree in engineering
Minimum of 7 years work experience with 5 years in flight simulation
Experience in design and delivery of products to the US military. This experience must include software development and computer system hardware layout and networks
Detailed knowledge of flight simulator hardware and software technology
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to create and understand technical documents related to aircraft, computers, electronics and flight simulation technology
MS Degree in engineering
Experience in design and delivery of flight simulation products
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
Work is performed in an environment where irritants such as noise from telephones, temperature, and lighting variations may exist, but there is little chance of injury, accident, or occupational health problems.
