Jered, a PAR Systems Company, has open positions for mechanical engineers in the Naval defense industry. Here at Jered our 180 team members design and build the mission critical non-combat systems that keep the US Navy moving forward. Become part of an established engineering team of 20-25 people where you can further develop your skills in project engineering, systems engineering, and mechanical design in a collaborative team environment.
Jered has been designing, building, and supporting products on every combatant ship in the US Navy for more than 60 years. Our core products are electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic mechanical support systems. Our engineering team is involved every step of the way from concept to proposal to detailed design to shipboard commissioning and beyond with lifelong product support. As a medium-sized company working on large-scale systems, Jered offers a unique opportunity to take on ownership of a product and see it through all phases of development and production.
Reasons to work at Jered:
- Healthy work life balance. The expectation is an efficient and productive work environment for 40 hours a week. Required travel is typically 15% or less, but there is opportunity to travel if one desires.
- Stability. Naval programs take time to execute, many products are created simultaneously, and the importance of our work is not left to the whims of the stock market.
- Competitive pay, benefits, and PTO. You won't feel like a cog in the machine, but rather as a respected and important member of the organization.
- Continued Education. We value your development and budget for each team member to attend 40 hours of industry-led training each year. We provide opportunities to brush up on old skills, learn new ones, or educate yourself about any topic that can improve our team's skillset.
- Creative Designs. R&D is owned by the design engineering team. Have an idea for the next great military marine system or how to make a current system better? It’s yours to develop and prototype alongside our seasoned Chief Engineers.
