The Professional and Technical Communication program at The University of Texas at Dallas hires well-qualified part-time lecturers from time to time for undergraduate courses. Candidates must have an advanced degree in communication (e.g., Communication Studies, Technical Communication, Rhetoric, Composition, or English) and appropriate teaching experience, ideally at an institution similar to UT Dallas. Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching applies traditional communication theories to professional and/or technical contexts.

Minimum Education and Experience
An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

Preferred Education and Experience
An appropriate terminal degree or doctorate in communication (such as Communication Studies, Technical Communication, Rhetoric, Composition, or English) is preferred; a candidate with a Master’s degree in a communications field may be considered. Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching applies traditional communication theories to professional and/or technical contexts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes.

Contribute assessment information and data as requested.

Participate in course evaluation surveys.

Official transcripts must be submitted to the Faculty Records Office prior to the first day of official employment for those applicants selected to teach at the University.
