SUMMARY:
The Billing Associate is responsible and accountable for timely insurance billing of both primary and secondary claims, insurance follow-up, working denials, posting and reviewing payments, adjustments and processing refunds for both hospital and physician claims. Must be able to easily adapt between different duties within the department on a daily basis to fit the needs of the department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Preferred 3+ years insurance related experience with an emphasis in Acute, Critical Access and Professional Billing, Posting and/or Contract/Denial Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Computer and office equipment skills required. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to operate effectively in a team, as well as independently, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Office staff: Varies, typically 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts. Holiday and Weekends are rare and only as needed. Occasional travel may be required between the Baxter Health hospital systems.
