Under limited supervision, provides leadership and support for updates to the existing Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) to support instructional accommodation options in accordance with the Georgia Department of Education's (GaDOE) strategic plan and IDEA requirements. Duties include, but are not limited to developing tiered levels of instructional resources; coordinating professional learning for educators who deliver and implement the Georgia Standards of Excellence to students at differentiated levels using resources with the appropriate Universal Design for Learning strategies; evaluating and monitoring professional learning effectiveness; reviewing, developing, and updating web-based content, resources, and assessments in support of the broad spectrum of instructional supports; planning and providing support services to schools and school systems around the differentiated resources; and developing and fostering effective relationships with local school systems and other educational entities to ensure quality instructional resources for all Georgia students Minimum Qualifications:Must have or be eligible for Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator's certification in special education; a master’s degree in education, education administration, special education, or a closely field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional experience in K-12 special education and/or curriculum instruction at the school, district or state level. Must submit a copy or GaPSC certificate/certification or GaPSC eligibility certificate/certification with cover letter, (application) resume and salary history; applicants who fail to submit required GaPSC documentation will not be considered. Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: • Experience as a K12 instructional leader, such as a curriculum or special education director • Experience implementing GSE in integrated ways through the Sciences, Mathematics, and/or Humanities • Experience implementing prevention and intervention programs such as Response to Intervention, Positive Behavior Supports and Interventions, and/or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support • Experience implementing curriculum that supports Universal Design for Learning strategies • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills • Experience writing and/or managing grants • Experience managing professional learning programs/activities • Experience with evidence-based practices, knowledge about research and data-informed decision-making at the classroom, school, and district levels. • Supervisory experience as a coach/instructional leader, secondary administrator either at the school or school district level or a Regional Educational Service Agency Salary/Benefits: Pay Grade N - Annual salary ranges from $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum).
