Microsoft’s Virtual Security Operations Center (VSOC) is recognized as a state of the art security operations center and is at the cutting edge in the use of technology making it a model for the security industry. The VSOC provides emergency and non-emergency security system monitoring, call taking, event dispatching, and event driven notification services globally, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week covering 700 locations, 170,000 people and 100 countries.

The Virtual Security Operations Center (Physical Security) Global Operations Program Manager is an experienced professional who is proficient in managing fast paced operations, team building, and technology related project management in cross cultural environments, including: strategic program oversight, effective verbal and written communication, policy/procedure development and project management.

Areas of responsibility and proficiency include: Incident management and response, data driven operational analysis to influence the conduct of future operations, concepts of 911 or emergency/law enforcement call center operations, critical incident response management, travel safety and security, and stakeholder collaboration with both internal and external partners. The VSOC Global Operations Program Manager is responsible for both short and long-term project management with a knack for creating operational efficiencies leveraging data and technology.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional interpersonal skills with an innate ability to remain centered and calm during times of crisis. Under direct management of the VSOC Global Ops BPM is the Redmond, WA., Security Operations Center location, with secondary management of Microsoft’s Security Operations Center (International) located in Hyderabad, India.

Responsibilities
Gathering and analyzing data to create useful metrics that drive operational efficiency.

Able to assess challenges, identify root causes, address opportunities and skills for resolving for all situations. Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to drive process improvement.

Provide direct operational oversight in the strategic and tactical applications in the operations center thereby ensuring a safe working environment supporting the aims and objectives of Microsoft’s core businesses.

Provide timely communications and actionable intelligence to support the protection of people, assets/intellectual property, and infrastructure.

Maintain a team that demonstrates and encourages a positive ‘can do’ attitude with all employees, vendors and other outside agencies to enable Microsoft to achieve its business objectives.

Manage the operational hub responsible for the monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of risks and threats that may affect the business and ensure all systems are functioning properly.

Responsible for Operational oversight in the evaluation, development and execution of both the VSOC and the Security Call Center.

Responsible for identifying and scheduling all appropriate certifications and inspections of the VSOC and ensure procedures and protocols are in place that enable the timely and effective response to, and management of, incidents, alarms, notifications, calls and other activities.

Use of strategies to monitor team performance, and compliance with contractually set Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Provide operational support to the Director of Operations for risk/threat assessments; demonstrate a problem-solving approach to preserving the business infrastructure at local, regional, and global levels and making recommendations to support the strategic aims at the global level.

Provide thought leadership and direction to all vendors from other companies to ensure the standards of service delivery, reporting and budgetary objectives meet or exceed expectations.

Actively contribute to a team working environment that will foster innovation, mutual respect and a determination to succeed in achieving or improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications
Four years of direct supervisory or leadership experience in a Corporate Security role.

Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience

Proven track record of managing high level programs, investigations or projects in a security, law enforcement or military setting.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload based on urgency; able to delegate tasks, and communicate to a range of audiences including to executive management

Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills

Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Preferred Qualifications:
Six+ years experience in a senior Corporate Security Operations role, 911 call center or Corporate Security Operations Center experience

Knowledge of and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of or experience with emergency communication operations.

Experience working with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification standards and requirements a plus
