COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIRECTOR SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Community Relations Director position is responsible for ensuring that the programs and services delivered are consistent with American House’s philosophy of Senior Living and that the highest quality of customer service is provided for our communities, supporting their ongoing efforts to maintain and increase occupancy. Standard business hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. Night and weekend hours may also be necessary.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIRECTOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for our residents
  • Responsible for sales initiatives and community outreach
  • Set, track, and accomplish goals on a timely basis for completed calls, mailings, leads generated, appointments set, presentations, and closings as outlined within Quarterly Sales/Marketing Plan
  • Accurately maintain the CRM software and sales process at all times
  • Develop and implement sales/marketing plans
  • Oversee and/or coordinate new resident move-in process with appropriate team members
  • Participate in weekly sales/marketing focus meetings/calls as required
  • Ensure that budgeted occupancy is consistently met or exceeded
  • Collaborate with ED to manage the sales/marketing budget
  • Develop a rapport and positive relationship with prospective residents and families and referral sources
  • Ensure community is tour ready for a positive first impression
  • Assess the competitive landscape and institute adjustments to the sales strategy in response to meet changing market and competitive conditions
  • Provide sales and customer service training to office staff on an ongoing basis
  • Complete sales/marketing reports as required
  • Responsible for meeting company sales/marketing expectations
  • Responsible for chairing the Building Safety Committee and reporting results/recommendations to Executive Director
  • Proficiency with software applications/programs/tools used by American House
  • Responsible for maintaining unit turnover status
  • Inspect vacant apartments to ensure they are move in ready
  • Responsible for responding to resident/employee needs, reporting to Executive Director on all issues
  • Perform continuous, ongoing supervision of office team members, including but not limited to training, disciplining, counseling, motivating, and evaluating
  • Assists in the interview and hiring process of new employees
  • Verify staff are in proper uniforms daily
  • Assists in ensuring employee and resident files are in proper order
  • Responsible for knowing all information in the employee handbook
  • Notify Executive Director of emergency situations
  • Note areas or articles in need of repair and report to maintenance
  • Travel to various locations and attendance at identified meetings is required
  • Act as community Executive Director in Executive Director’s absence
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director

  • Excellent communication skills and compassion
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and provide current personal auto insurance
  • Previous sales and/or marketing experience in healthcare or service related industry
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in various software programs and Microsoft Office
  • Additional requirements as specified by state specific licensure
