The Brand Manager provides brand leadership, oversight, and management for the FIU brand. Works to ensure consistent brand execution and delivery of all central branding, marketing, and communications activities. The Brand Manager will also work to build relationships and collaborate with schools, colleges and departments to ensure consistent brand execution across the University.
This position will lead FIU's central brand communications efforts and oversees marketing research activities through internal and external partnerships and will provide ongoing benchmarking, dashboard monitoring, and research intelligence to support data based branding, marketing, and communications decisions.
The Brand manager plays a lead role in assessing vulnerabilities and opportunities in national and international rankings and will help provide quality control responses to the ranking services where and when appropriate.
The Brand Manager is responsible for the unifying brand identity standards for the University. This includes maintaining the internal identity standards website.
Manages central brand campaign communications and brand research activities.
Works with internal and external partners to establish benchmarks for brand perception and creates strategies to increase awareness and position the university to align with its communication goals. Acts as a marketing consultant for schools, departments, and units throughout the University to help centralize our messages and provide guidance on creative choices.
Manages institutional logo usage guidelines and approves use requests.
Creates campaigns to reach out to local retailers to expand areas where FIU can include branding and merchandise.
Establishes a relationship with all campus facility managers and creates goals for all university spaces that need updated branding and designs.
Leads and participates in the strategy with designers to conceptualize designs for interior spaces that reflect FIU's branding and designs.
Maintains relationships with local signage and print vendors to ensure FIU logos and brand communications are meeting university standards and quality.
Grows FIU's merchandising presence by working closely with FIU's licensing company to increase sales and distribution of FIU Gear.
Manages direct reports and oversees filming on campus at FIU both for brand approval and to provide revenue for brand communications.
Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Bachelor's degree in related field and five (5) years of experience.
Knowledge of advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
Experience creating brand awareness highly desired.
Experience in merchandising and licensing highly desired.
