Audiovisual Senior Technician

Industry leader in Audiovisual installation and design is seeking a skilled Audiovisual Senior Technician for full time employment. Candidates should have a passion for audiovisual technology, a solid technical background, understanding of complex systems troubleshooting as well as demonstrate excellent communication and customer relation skills.

General Description:

The Audio Visual Senior Technician is responsible for providing diagnostics, light assembly/installation, programming, documentation and service/repair support to Onyx AudioVisual customers.


  • Perform diagnostics, light assembly/installation, programming and repair of equipment, materials and systems as directed, specified and required in the work orders and project documentation
  • Responsible for reading and understanding assigned project documentation and work orders, and determine if additional information is required
  • Coordinate needed materials, parts and documentation needed to complete assigned jobs.
  • Attend meetings when required
  • Inform Dispatcher of any problems and concerns with assigned jobs.
  • Maintain updated as-built drawings and documentation for assigned jobs.
  • Ensure customer sign-off on completed jobs and that and required Operation and Maintenance Manuals are delivered.
  • Responsible for recording daily time and activity in company software and updating G-Suite database information
  • Responsible for the first 90 days of Warranty Service
  • Promote new products and service contracts
  • Maintain a professional image and build good customer relationships
  • Provide product and system education and in-service training for co-workers, customers and end users
  • Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers
  • Comply with company policies, as well as health and safety issues

  • Other duties as required or assigned


The Audio Visual Senior Technician shall possess a two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and related field experience. Must possess an understanding of Audio Visual systems, such as professional sound, healthcare and education. Maintain a fundamental knowledge of audiovisual presentation systems, control and integration. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Have strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specification sheets. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and G-Suite. Possess a strong sense of urgency. CTS, Crestron and QSC certification required. Polycom, AMX, and Cisco certifications a plus.


Some out of town travel required.

  • Proficiency in Crestron and QSC programming. AMX, Polycom and/or Cisco programming a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
  • Valid and current driver's license.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

  • Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
  • Some light lifting of objects is required.
  • Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
