Mechanical Project Engineer
Curaleaf, Inc. is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical biotech company dedicated to helping patients live a better quality of life. Curaleaf is currently seeking a creative and driven Project Engineer to join our team to manage construction projects, equipment installations and design of mechanical systems in building spaces.
The ideal candidate would have experience leading the project management of small to medium construction/engineering projects in conjunction with designing and developing all aspects of mechanical components (i.e., HVAC), equipment, and machinery. Can apply knowledge of engineering principles to design systems and equipment installations. Competent in general engineering processes and procedures (strength of materials, fluids). May be involved in operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical systems. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing in a food or pharmaceutical environment.
Project Management: oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget. Can see the “big picture” from beginning to end of the project
Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of sheet metal and structural steel equipment
Reviews work with vendors & contractors to insure work is done to specifications and written procedures
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed
Performs engineering design evaluations and calculations
Creates drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
Knowledge of safe design, sanitary design, of food processing equipment, and packaging equipment
Creates Bill of Materials
Creates new product design and reviews/enhances existing designs
Support manufacture, build and validation of systems
Frequent travel to sites in other states to assess equipment, spaces and trouble shoot systems-40% travel is required.
This position can be based in Wakefield, MA (Boston area)
Education and Relevant Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or other engineering discipline with 2-6 years relevant experience
Experience with food and pharmaceutical construction standards-HVAC systems experience preferred
3+ years’ project management experience, PMP certification or training a plus
Knowledge of ASHRAE and FPA preferred
Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office, working knowledge of SolidWorks/Auto CAD
Basic electrical/controls knowledge desired but not required
