Position Title: Commercial & Branding Specialist/Event Sales & Operations Specialist - Washington

Hourly Rate: $37
Duration: 6 months, unless extended

Event Sales and Operations Specialist with strong knowledge of the event planning process for a temporary position with the Future of Flight. This specialist serves as the primary point of contact between the customers, caterers, vendors and facilities technicians, while ensuring a professionally managed and safe event and a superior customer experience. They will collaborate cross functionally with other Future of Flight departments to prioritize the use of shared resources, and stay focused on objectives as defined in the concept of operations. Other responsibilities include ensuring that customer requirements are met, resolving schedule conflicts and handling customer issues promptly and professionally. Primary duties: * Greets and maintains regular contact with the customer to ensure high standards of service and that every function is a complete success. * Arranges walk-throughs, corresponds with client regarding floor plan, event details and logistics, creates final floor plan and Banquet Event Order (BEO), obtains client approval for BEO and floor plan; ensures all parties have copies of up to date plans and information. * Maintains contact with the guests to inform them of event status, last minute change requests and accommodations needed for client satisfaction. * Verbally communicates in a calm, positive demeanor with all Future of Flight staff and vendor staff as well as the guest host to ensure timely execution of events, quality of service and adherence to all applicable federal, state and local safety & health regulations. * Collaborates with all Future of Flight managers to ensure optimal customer experience for all guests and to avoid conflicting arrangements; maintains and communicates the events schedule to all managers. * Point of Contact for all internal reservations for meeting spaces and participates in steering and planning committees as requested. * Monitors the Events department revenue targets to optimize sales and service objectives. * Creates estimates and follows through on all billing processes for clients and vendors. * Ensures Future of Flight booking calendar is kept up-to-date for all building projects and events. Distributes calendar to stakeholders and keeps team informed of updates. * Communicates safety protocols to all events clients, sets up and manages events to ensure guest safety and assists in evacuating guests during emergencies. * Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate: * Is a self-starter, highly organized and possesses excellent interpersonal skills, able to resolve conflicts and handle customer complaints to positive resolution. * Collaborates with other departments within Boeing and the Future of Flight to meet business objectives. * Represents Boeing with the utmost quality at all times; maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. * Is capable of physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, pushing, balancing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, handling, fingering and standing for long period of time. * Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds. * Must be willing to work a flexible schedule; may be required to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays based on business needs. * Thrives in a fast paced environment with many interruptions. Must be able to change activity frequently.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
