The Chief Financial Officer of Practice Operations will provide both operational and financial support to the organization. Acts as a strategic business partner to the President, Practice Operations and members of the PSG Senior Executive Leadership team. The CFO Practice Operations directly assists the PSG CFO on all strategic and tactical matters as they related to financial and budget management, cost benefit analysis, and projecting future operational performance. Monitors performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled for Practice Operations, which includes in excess of $1 Billion in net revenue and more than 1000+ practice locations and company ID's. Assists the Practice Operations leadership team and the PSG CFO in the development of short and long-range operational plans. Assist the Practice Operations Group CFOs in the development of group budgets, monitors, interprets, and analyzes practice operational/financial performance against established targets and metrics. Identifies and reports undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and makes recommendations for action. Responsible for leading efforts to analyze and explore means of reduction overall practice operating costs, increasing revenue base on knowledge of market trends, financial reports, and Groups performance history. Responsible for the creation, direction, and submission all Practice Operations financial data required by Physician Services Group and Corporate office.

Qualified candidates will have the ability to lead and maintain relationships to include:
Responsible to President Practice Operations/Physician Services Chief Financial Officer.
Positions Supervised: Group CFOs.
Interactions with Physician Services leadership, Group leadership, Directors, Managers, Staff, Corporate personnel, Group personnel, and Division personnel.

Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:
Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization’s mission, financial, operational, and strategic plans.
Works with the President, Practice Operations on the strategic vision for the service line including fostering and cultivating stakeholder’s support and engagement.
Provides overall financial leadership and direction for the Practice Operations Service Line.
Acts as the Service Lines Chief Financial spokesperson and oversees all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost analysis, and forecasting.
Leads Service Line discussion at monthly operating reviews.
Prepares and presents monthly operating review documents to PSG leadership and corporate as necessary.
Implements policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by PSG leadership.
Assists Physician Services CFO, Group CFOs and Group Vice Presidents in the development of strategic plans.
Develops tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to practice operations leaders and makes actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
Participates in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating modifies and operational executions.
Assist in developing and directing the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
Trains the Field Financial Staff in raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters, policies, and processes.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience in strategic planning and execution, and knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems, and federal and state financial regulations.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Requires hospital CFO and/or Controller experience.
Current financial leadership experience in a healthcare environment is required.
Knowledge of financial management, analysis, principles, techniques, and managerial skills, typically acquired through:
3-5 years’ experience in public accounting, specifically in healthcare finance (when applied to small hospitals).
5-9 additional years’ experience as a hospital Controller (when applied to larger hospitals).
10 years’ experience in large (greater than 300 providers) Physician Practice Multi-Specialty environment or integrated Health System.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field required.
CPA designation strongly preferred.
Master’s degree in finance / MBA strongly preferred.
