Assistant County Administrator

Salary range $85,044 - $127,578; beginning salary dependent upon on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are provided.

The Assistant County Administrator works with the County Administrator and other staff in directing and coordinating County government. The Assistant County Administrator oversees human resource administration, including collective bargaining, benefits and risk management oversight and management. This position provides support to the County Board, provides financial analysis in the preparation and administration of the annual budget and assists in coordinating the functions of all County departments and agencies.

This position requires possession of a bachelor"s degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration or a closely related area, preferably supplemented by a master"s degree in public administration; considerable progressively responsible public or private sector managerial experience (4-6 years) requiring the planning and execution of administrative operations, including three years of progressively responsible experience in public administration and budget analysis or any equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of budgeting, excellent analytical skills and outstanding interpersonal/communicative skills. The selected individual must have a collaborative style and be able to develop consensus. The person in this position needs to have the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks and the ability to maintain effective working relationships while working with a broad range of inputs.
