This position is responsible for overseeing monthly close and the issuance of financial information, personally reviews and approves all financial information, reports financial results to the board of directors and bankers, and performs financial analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Understands and mitigates key elements of the company's risk profile
  • Monitors all open legal issues involving the company as well as legal issues affecting the industry
  • Maintains and improves accounting systems
  • Designs and monitors reliable control systems
  • Maintains appropriate insurance coverage
  • Ensures that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Maintains relations with external auditors and investigates their findings and recommendations
  • Monitors cash balances and cash forecasts; arranges for debt and equity financing; invests funds
  • Manage cash expenditures
  • Invests pension funds
  • Oversees all income, sales, use, property and payroll taxes
  • Oversees tax planning
  • Develops new tax strategies
  • Coordinates income tax matters with outside CPA and shareholders
  • Participates in key decisions of the management team
  • Maintains in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Manages the accounting and finance, human resources, legal, tax, and treasury functions
  • Manages any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
  • Oversees the company's transaction processing systems; implements operational best practices
  • Oversees employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
  • Assists in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Monitors and directs the implementation of budgets
  • Maintains cash forecasts and monitors cash flow
  • Develops financial and tax strategies
  • Manages the capital requisition and budgeting processes
  • Develops performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • May include other duties as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 10 years Full Cycle Accounting in ERP (Month-End Close, Year-End Close, Audits, Shareholder Tax Liability, Accruals, Reconciliation, Fixed Assets, Payroll, Capital Expenditure)
  • Managing staff and multiple departments (General Accounting, A/R, A/P, Human Resources, IT)
  • Human Resources experience to include Workers Comp. Insurance, Labor Laws, Payroll Laws, Unemployment Claims, Terminations, Recruitment
  • IT experience to include IT and System Support, Hardware and Software Implementation, Special Projects
  • Banking Relations (Checking, Credit Cards, Line-of-Credit, Loans)
  • Annual Budget and Monthly Forecasting
  • Shareholder Presentation Meeting
  • Cash Management and Forecast
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • CPA or MBA a Plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000.00 to $127,000.00 /year
