The Business Analyst will be responsible for the identification and definition of the business needs of their clients and stakeholders, and to help determine solutions to meet their business needs or resolve their business problems. This candidate will specifically work within the Shell Trading organization, participating on the definition and delivery of both projects and enhancements. Ideal candidate would have Openlink Endur core experience. This position will include a wide variety of tasks, and requires the Business Analyst to multi-task and be very flexible with step-change. Day to day tasks for the Business Analyst will be provided by the Project Manager(s) of the project(s) assigned to the BA.

Accountable for the execution of business analysis components of projects assigned, including the following areas:
  • Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements, and specify effective business processes.
  • Maintains technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be analysed, modelled, and classified according to technical feasibility and performance.
  • Utilises business experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicability of alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities, to produce fit for purpose solutions.
  • Takes responsibility as needed for the detailed specification and modelling of recommended solutions using resources, standards, methods, and tools as required.
  • Applies available standards, methods and tools in an intelligent and effective way, and produces a consistently high standard of documentation of both a technical and a descriptive nature.
  • Plans, arranges, and controls meetings, workshops, and relations with client/user staff during system investigations and throughout subsequent development work.
  • Assists clients/users in defining acceptance tests for automated systems, and takes responsibility for their proper execution.
Requirements
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's degree, likely in Information Technology.
Minimum ten (10) years field experience in some or all of the following additional areas: business/technical analysis, architectural understanding, facilitation, gap analysis, process design, business continuity plan development, support model development, documenting procedures, developing control deliverables, change request development and analysis, risk identification, data analysis.
The successful candidate will be working in a changing organization with a diverse set of people, including business users, project managers, developers, testers, and application managers
Extensive experience as a business analyst in an IT organization.
Can communicate effectively to business users and stakeholders. Has demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
Is familiar with a range of analysis, modelling, and design methods; has broad & current knowledge of IT standards, applications, and trends. Has an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.
Has a comprehensive understanding of business process improvement, benefit and risk management, and software testing and of all testing events throughout the development lifecycle. Takes a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail.
Demonstrates a concern and aptitude for considering the user's perspective in IT development.
Ability to understand high level technical requirements and ability to identify appropriate tools to meet those requirements.
Can apply technical experience to analysis, modelling, and specification of solutions to complex business problems.
Preferably has broad & current knowledge of Trading IT strategies, standards, and applications including Zianet/Aligne.
Must be able to work as a collaborative team member to develop effective solutions to issues.
Must be able to conduct interviews, coordinate and facilitate design sessions/meetings and develop appropriate documentation, including minutes, and/or procedures or Visio diagrams as required by the situation and task at hand. Will be responsible for reporting progress and issues on a weekly basis.
Must be proficient in the MSOffice suite of products, Visio and Sharepoint.
Must have a general technical knowledge related to hardware, database, architecture, integration.
Must have advanced ETRM knowledge, preferably in Endur
Must be able to analyze position and P&L reporting
Travel is possible, but is estimated to be less than 10%.
Has previous project experience in Endur or similar ETRM application as Business Analyst. Covering one or more of the following areas: Front Office, Scheduling/Operations, Risk, Back Office/Settlements/Accounting, Reporting/Datawarehousing.
Has good interpersonal skills and is able to converse with internal and external Stakeholders
