At Luckett & Farley we integrate our architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, and master planners in distinct market studio teams. The Higher Education studio is a collective of high-energy and innovative design and engineering experts collaborating on diverse projects in the Higher Education sector. Focus areas are renovations and new construction for: Student residences, academic buildings, STEM facilities, library/learning commons, food service/dining facilities, master planning, athletic fields and facilities, and administration facilities. As a Luckett & Farley Project Manager, you will have a successful track record as a thought leader in the field of Higher Education design and in managing all phases of multidisciplinary architectural and engineering projects. You will have overall responsibility for defining, planning, leading, and managing our studio projects with internal and external teams. You will ensure that we are providing a clear focus on objectives, creating and maintaining realistic project plans, collaborating with your teams, and creatively solving problems as they arise. You'll become the go-to team member to help resolve issues and move projects along while identifying opportunities to go above-and-beyond for our clients. What You Will Do
Lead a range of medium-to-large scale projects with many complexities through all phases of the design and construction process with clients and their stakeholders, design teams, consultants, contractors and vendors.
Provide leadership to clients and oversee a large staff of architects and technicians by creating a clear project plan, leading the design process, encouraging prompt action and clearly communicating and managing project goals and objectives, budgets, scope, deliverables and schedule.
Provide leadership including mentoring, professional development, and hands-on coaching to team members.
Monitor and control the execution of projects in accordance with internal quality processes to deliver profitable, high quality projects on time and within budget.
Manage projects using a web-based project management system. Complete and maintain work plans to identify project team members, track fees, labor budgets and consultant expenses, etc.
Provide succinct, accurate project reporting to clients, team members and other stakeholders.
Lead teams in the performance of construction administration services.
Administer project closeout and post-construction follow up.
Identify new business opportunities while developing current client relationships. Listen for and seek out new projects which may exist or are being formulated.
Prepare and manage proposals and contracts, developing and validating project scope, fee, budget, and scope of services.
Participate in the marketing and presentation of services to clients with your Market Director and work with them to define the project.
Licensed Architect or Engineer, LEED accreditation preferred.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.
Minimum 10+ years of professional experience with management experience in all phases of projects from design through construction.
5+ years of related project management and design leadership experience with a proven track record of higher education design experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills.
An accomplished designer with a thorough understanding of the design process from conception to construction closeout.
Experienced in successfully managing multi-discipline design teams through small, large, and complex projects.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while being capable of juggling multiple projects.
